Grandview Kids welcomes EKO Spring Symposium delegates for a special pre-conference tour
Planning your EKO Spring Symposium 2025 experience? Here’s a don’t miss opportunity: Join a limited number of guests for a tour of the New Grandview Kids in Ajax.
We often talk about community-based pediatric healthcare agencies being embedded in their locales. Grandview Kids embeds the community in its new building. The doors officially opened in November for the state-of-the-art centre featuring a Family Resource Centre containing a branch of the Ajax Public Library and a café, rotating exhibits, and a 0.35-kilometre outdoor sensory trail, and the Grandview School. The fully accessible facility and outdoor areas include a welcome playground, sunken garden, gymnasium for both therapy and play, a therapy pool, and an outdoor therapy terrace.
The new building, located on 5.06 acres of land donated by the Town of Ajax, is an open, welcoming and inclusive paediatric facility offering an integrated mix of rehabilitation, medical and clinical services as well as education and research activities. With the future in mind, the New Grandview Kids is designed and built with the capacity to expand and enhance existing services and introduce new ones to continue meeting the rapidly growing demand of its community.
The former site in Oshawa is now consolidated with multiple satellite locations. Grandview Kids reduces extensive travel time for some families and caregivers, maintaining three satellites in Clarington, Port Perry, and Oshawa, along with a partnership with the Abilities Centre.
If you haven’t visited yet—and even if you have—you’ll want to take in the fabulous design of Ontario’s newest developmental health centre in action, located at 1461 Harwood Ave. N, Ajax.
Grandview Kids is offering EKO Spring Symposium delegates the chance to visit with small-group tours led by Grandview Kids CEO Tom McHugh and members of the senior leadership team, on Tuesday, April 15th, between 3:00 and 4:30 p.m.
The centre is a quick Uber or taxi ride from the Ajax GO station, and a short drive from the 401, and accessible by Durham Transit.
Register now for the EKO Spring Symposium 2025 and book your spot on the Grandview Kids tour.
