Mission Statement

Our Vision:

Building Abilities for Life

Our Mission:

Five Counties Children’s Centre is dedicated to working with families and community partners to provide innovative, evidence-based care for children and youth with physical, developmental and communication needs; enhancing their independence and enriching their quality of life.

Our Story

Five Counties Children’s Centre was incorporated in 1972 through the local Rotary Club and a group of parents of children with physical disabilities. The Centre opened its treatment wing in 1975. Throughout its history, Five Counties has partnered with families to achieve the best rehabilitation outcomes for children. This family-centred approach to care ensures we can provide quality service in a supportive environment.

Whether in schools, in Centre, in the community or online, Five Counties is constantly striving to improve and innovate in the way we deliver life-changing treatment for our kids and families. Last year, we served the highest number of kids and clients in our nearly 50-year history.

Our People/Our Team

Five Counties Children’s Centre includes a team of caring and dedicated professionals who are committed to supporting children and youth with developmental, physical and communication needs. We employ a multidisciplinary team, including: physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, communicative disorders assistants, social workers, recreational therapists and support staff.

Our volunteer board of directors oversee the finances, operations and services provided by Five Counties. Together, we are working to fulfil our vision of building abilities for life, while helping to enhance children’s independence, well-being and quality of life.
