Quinte Children’s Treatment Centre provides a range of rehabilitation services and programs to children and youth with multiple disabilities, residing in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. Each child is viewed as part of a larger network, with home, school, hospital, and community partnering to assist each child and their family to reach their full potential and to participate as fully as possible in the life of our community.

Mission Statement

Our vision at Quinte CTC is that all children and their families reach their full potential and participate as fully as possible in the life of our community.

Our Story

Quinte Children’s Treatment Centre serves as a primary resource for information and advocacy in our community. We are committed to a family-centered model of care which involves parents and caregivers, as well as the child, in all aspects of decision making.

We have been helping children and youth with special needs and their families in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties since 1977. Our main facility is located in the Charlotte Sills Wing of Quinte Health Care - Belleville Site, with satellite locations at Trenton Memorial Hospital and Bancroft Hospital.

The Quinte Children's Treatment Centre provides services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, social work, psychology and medical services to children and youth with multiple special needs. We strongly promote the importance of a healthy self image for every child, gained through successful integration into their community. Funding for the centre comes from the Ministry of Children and Youth, (change to Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services and thus there is no cost to families to obtain services from the centre.

Our People/Our Team

The team at Quinte CTC believes in a flexible, multidisciplinary approach to intervention which meets the changing physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of children as they grow from infancy to young adulthood. We endeavour to provide timely intervention which is accessible to all our clients.

We value successful, cooperative partnerships in our community and will continue to promote these linkages. Additionally, we endeavour to attract and maintain a high quality health care team by providing opportunities for education and research.

Achievement/Awards And Recognition

Quinte Children’s Treatment Centre is one of 20 in the Province, who share a similar mandate. We are part of an organization called Empowered Kids Ontario (EKO).
