Empowered Kids Ontario is pleased to announce the appointment of Christina (Tina) Langlois as its new Board Chair. Past Chair Tom Walters will remain on the EKO board, having served two years of his second three-year term on the board.
“I’m honoured to be taking on this leadership role with EKO and to be continuing the ongoing growth and evolution of the association” says Tina Langlois. “I want to thank Tom Walters for his leadership over the last two years and during the COVID pandemic—a challenging time of continued instability. Tom kept our board always fully focused on our strategic directions.”
A director with depth in governance and strategy, Tina is a respected lawyer with over 30 years’ experience in professional regulation and governance, She currently acts as General Counsel for the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario. Tina also has a master’s degree in education and is passionate about providing effective and engaged training and education for board and committee members in the regulatory sector.
Initially appointed to EKO’s board in 2019, Tina most recently served as Vice Chair and as Chair of the Board Development and Governance Committee.
Tina was first introduced to the child development and rehabilitation sector when her son was diagnosed at Children’s Treatment Network of Simcoe-York, where she later served as a board director for six years, including three years as Chair. Tina led CTN as the centre celebrated its 10th anniversary, guiding conversations and making sure there is space for everyone to contribute—a hallmark of her leadership style.
