Jennifer Foster appointed CEO of KidsAbility Centre for Child Development

Waterloo (ON) – Immediate Release – The KidsAbility Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Jennifer Foster as the organization`s new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 3, 2024.

 “Following an extensive search, the Board was unanimous in the selection of Jennifer Foster as the best leader to take on this exciting and challenging role,” says Elizabeth Witmer, Chair of the Board of Directors, KidsAbility.

Jennifer has a long history of progressive senior leadership roles within the private and public health care sector in Ontario, most recently as Chief Operating Officer of MCI Onehealth Technologies Inc. She possesses extensive experience in strategic leadership, corporate planning, and operations, demonstrating exceptional aptitude for navigating successfully through periods of change.

Elizabeth Witmer, the board chair of KidsAbility, expressed unwavering confidence in Jennifer's appointment as the next CEO, highlighting, "We are very pleased Jennifer will be joining KidsAbility. Jennifer’s exceptional depth of knowledge in health care operations, organizational transformation, coupled with her expertise in the provincial healthcare system and values-based leadership skills, make her well-suited to lead our organization in our journey to deliver on our mission."

Last year, KidsAbility provided support to over 17,000 children and families, underscoring its steadfast commitment to meeting the escalating need for its services. As part of its expansion efforts, the organization opened a new facility in Kitchener in December, aiming to better serve an increased number of families within the region.

Working alongside our incredible staff, committed board, and invaluable community partners, I am enthusiastic about advancing our mission forward and ensuring exceptional care and service for children and families,” shared incoming CEO Jennifer Foster.

In addition to her most recent role, Jennifer previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Cira Health Solutions and held position of Senior Director, Client Experience and Outcomes within the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. She holds a Bachelor of Communications from University of Calgary and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario.
