EKO announces the appointment of new board members

Empowered Kids Ontario-Enfants Avenir Ontario (EKO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Coffey, M.Ed., MBA and Jessica Sartori, PhD, to the association’s board of directors for a three-year term, beginning November 8, 2022.
A student achievement-oriented educator, Coffey is known for creating learning cultures, monitoring for improvement, and for instituting policies and practices that promote inclusion. A teacher, principal and currently superintendent of education responsible for 17 schools as well as the safe and caring schools policy agenda, Coffey works to support all students, and to implement strategies that eliminate systemic barriers for students and parents.
Sartori joins the board of directors as representative and chair of EKO’s Leadership Council. Before being appointed CEO of the John McGivney Children’s Centre in Windsor, she served as Director of Quality Assurance at the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society, and as Manager of Community Impact and Learning at the United Way Windsor-Essex County. Sartori has also been deeply involved in the local community including as a trustee and as chair for the Greater Essex County District School Board.
“We’re excited to expand our board with new members who bring diverse expertise and insight to our work,” says EKO CEO Jennifer Churchill. “We have worked diligently to ensure EKO’s board and leadership represents a variety of experts from education, child development, education, and social service, as well as individuals with living experience. Our newest board members are no exception.”
