The Empowered Kids Ontario Scholarship Program

The Empowered Kids Ontario Scholarship Program empowers kids with special needs, supporting them to reach their education goals and career dreams.

EKO Scholars have accomplished what their peers strive to do: succeed and pursue life’s challenges. The program is available to youth who have benefited from services and supports offered by an EKO member organization, and who demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and volunteerism in their community and/or in their extra-curricular activities.

Since 2011, Empowered Kids Ontario has invested more than $50,000 in education grants to 46 EKO Scholars. Students who have received support through the EKO Scholarship Program have attended and are currently enrolled in colleges and universities across Ontario, including University of Waterloo, St. Clair College, Laurentian University, York University, University of Ottawa, and Carleton University.

Each award contributes to the cost of a college or university program, or a career training program. Awards of up to $1,000 are available to qualifying students.
